According to the 2000 U.S. Census, more than 50 percent of all residents in central South Dakota fall into the low to moderate income level. In Pierre alone, nearly 350 elementary students qualify for the “Backpack Program” which provides students with food items to get them through the weekend. Please take a few minutes to consider how a regional food bank could assist people in your community!
